The mystery of the Bermuda Triangle

A myth that I find interesting would be the bermuda triangle.  The reason I find this myth interesting is because I’ve always wondered if it is actually just a difference in conditions or is it something more mysterious that we haven’t discovered yet.  The reason this confuses me is because how could a difference in magnetic waves completely cause the planes engine to fail like i could see the navigational stuff failing but how come the planes are going down over this area.  And how come it only affects some planes like when big airliners fly over this area they are fine but other times when planes with just one pilot are flying over they get affected. I know that is kind of a good thing because it is just one person instead of an entire airbus but still how come it only happens every once in awhile.  You would think if it is a difference in the magnetic waves in the air it would happen to any plane that flew over the bermuda triangle. But hitting on the more mysterious side with possibly a force us as humans have not discovered yet. If i’m being completely honest i would think the whole electromagnetic waves thing would be way more believable and that could very easily cause a plane to crash.  Because without navigational devices and stuff like that a pilot would have a very hard time finding his way through the storm. And that’s another thing why do storms just randomly pop up when planes fly through that area like that seems the most odd to me. Because all of the crashes you hear about are always in storms there. Anyway i’m just very confused on the whole idea of the bermuda triangle and don’t really understand what’s going on.
